I’d sell my soul to make this true.
I hope they wouldn’t make a crazy decision of NOT casting Paul. How’s his schedule like now?

*RUNS to dig out her RotM book, to remind herself of the plot, while hyperventilating!*

With book in hand, Raha peruses the blurb on the back cover…
“Jack Aubrey returns from his duties protecting whalers off the South American coast and is persuaded by a casual acquaintance to make investments in the City on the strength of supposedly certain information.”
*pause for dramatic effect*
“From there he is led into the half-worlds of the London criminal underground and of government espionage – the province of his friend, Stephen Maturin.”
This (while making me go “OMG! Spy!Stephen at last!”) makes sense, because since The Rose was sold, a land-based adventure would be perfect.

Paul is one of my favorite actors and Knights tale and Master and Commander are two of my favorite movies off all time and he is one of the big reasons why

I’d expect a more land-based movie just to save money and there’s the fact that FOX did sell off the Baja tank studio where the first was filmed. But the Rose/Surprise is still available. They sold it to the San Diego museum with the provision that it be made available if needed again. It still looks like the Surprise. They haven’t made any big changes to it except to make it seaworthy according to the codes.
Check out the Surprise blog…

I guess its way to early to presume any more details. :sighs: I guess I’ll have to hold off my excitement until I’m sure the cast is NOT modified and/or has a plot in which Paul doesn’t have much say. (that would be the worst)
BUT, this is the most promising news yet! I love M&C and always hope for a sequel to follow in its path. I guess dreams do come true.

spy!Stephen would make me a *very* happy girl. Now they just need to add in some slash to make every fangirl’s dream come true
