Paul plays doctor

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Apparently, Paul helped Salma Hayek figure out what was wrong with her during her pregnancy:

“I was nauseous for the whole nine months, and the only thing I craved was fruit – cold mango, watermelon. And then later on, I was saying that I didn’t know why I was getting so big. Paul Bettany said something about too much fruit and gestational diabetes, and I thought, ‘What does he know?’”

As it turned out, Paul was right.  He must have really done his homework with those “What to Expect…” books when Jennifer was pregnant!  ;)

‘Master and Commander 2′ is on the way!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

After nearly five years online, PBnet has finally gotten a scoop of its own from Paul’s management: we WILL be seeing a sequel to Master and Commander!  Tentatively titled The Surgeon’s Mate (after the 7th book in the series), the movie will place more of an emphasis on the possible romantic relationship between Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin.  Paul is already contracted to the sequel, and Russell Crowe is in final negotiations.  Peter Weir will be penning the script again, though Ang Lee has been tapped to direct.  More news as it comes in!

Edit: Yes, this was an April Fool’s joke!  (not to mention a bit of wish fulfillment…)
