Can anyone capture the short Paul sections of the two red carpet interviews linked below, so I can upload them to PBnet? I hate using outside links because they go out of date so quickly, and sometimes the video is lost completely. Deadly_Jabberwock found this YouTube video from the Bees premiere in London. Around the 7 or 8 minute mark, the reporter talks to Paul briefly about British films, Broken Lines, and Creation. About the latter, Paul says: “I’m enjoying myself more than I have done for many years as an actor.” That’s nice to hear!
As if Jennifer Hudson’s family haven’t suffered enough already, the FBI has confirmed that her 7-year-old nephew was also killed. Please keep Jennifer and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Paul attended the screening of Bees last night at the London Film Festival – wearing a cap to hide his Darwin ‘do.

The Independent has a short feature on Toby Jones’ past week, and in the Monday entry he talks about filming a scene with Paul for Creation. We also learn what his role is: the scientist Thomas Huxley.
It’s my first day of filming a new film called Creation. Today we shoot a debate scene between my character, Thomas Huxley, the 19th-century scientist, and Paul Bettany’s character, Charles Darwin. We are filming at Down House in Kent, where Darwin had once lived.
It’s one of those memorable days of filming in which you literally get to experience a moment in history in the place where it happened. My character is trying to cajole and provoke Darwin out of his procrastination and get him to publish The Origin of Species as he’s doubting whether or not he should. It is a very long day but we complete the scene and I get home just in time to say good night to my kids.

In this interview, Jennifer Hudson talks about a character exercise she had to do with Paul:
We had an exercise where it was myself and Paul Bettany (T. Ray Owens, Lily’s abusive, racist father) and we had to speak to each other in character and describe how we felt about each other in front of each other and he said well she’s no different to me than a piece of furniture, a car or a dog. And I’m sitting there hearing that as Jennifer today…no, that would get you hurt!
