Small update from Cornelia Funke

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Cornelia Funke has updated the news on her site, and makes a brief mention of Inkheart:

I am sorry that there will be a lot of silence about the movie for the next few months, but that’s how it has to be – to make the movie an even more magical surprise when it is done. Iain Softley and Martin Walsh, the editor are working hard to get it ready for the first test screenings, and I still find it so exciting to for the first time watch that closely how a movie is born. And it is from my story… still quite amazing.

Outtakes from Amnesty International video

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

Lynne found some videos on YouTube that are outtakes from the Amnesty International Control Arms message that Paul recorded in February.  The longest is only 10 seconds, but they’re fun nonetheless.  Beware of swearing in the first one if you’re at work or something.  There are also screencaps added in the gallery.

Using the second link on each one, you can download the videos from PBnet as FLV (Flash video) files.  Flash video players can be downloaded for free and are a handy thing to have anyway.  Right-click the link and save.

Thanks for the heads-up, Lynne!

More pictures from charity dinner

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Thanks to the machinations of my devious cohorts Rahalia and Serina, there are more pictures from the Bambai Bling dinner on Tuesday night.  Do check out the foundation’s website; it is set up to help the young people of Sierra Leone, where the effects of child soldiers and conflict diamonds (as seen in Jennifer’s Blood Diamond) are a big problem.  One of the guests at the dinner was Ishmael Beah, author of A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier.

Paul and Jennifer at charity dinner

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Added two new pictures of Paul and Jennifer – both looking gorgeous – at an unidentified charity dinner in New York. I’m searching for more info and pictures from this, so this post will probably be updated.

Edit: The charity dinner was for the Bambai Bling Foundation launch on 12 June 2007. Isifa has some more pics, if anyone can get their hands on any other pics please let us know! -Serina

‘There for Me’ filming in London

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Irini found this posted on the IMDB message boards: “I live in Finsbury Park, London and we had a flyer to advise us they would be filming this [There for Me] on June 17 on Fonthill Road, N4 (I live quite near and I guess they have to tell people when they’re doing this).”

If you live nearby, you might want to hop over there and try to steal a glimpse of Paul, Charlie Condou, and/or Saffron Burrows! Maybe even take a picture and send it to us so that we can all be jealous of you? *winks*

Paul and Jennifer sign up for ‘Born’

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Variety reports today that Paul and Jennifer have signed up to play a married couple in the psychological thriller Born, to be filmed in mid-August. Paul will be quite busy this summer! Click here to read the article, and click here to join the forum discussion.

Edit: From ClearVision’s website, I found a rather creepy teaser poster, as well as a better plot summary, which you can read here on the new Born info page.

Edit 2: If you caught The Daily Show last night, you got a glimpse of Silas giving his angry stare.  I don’t remember what Jon Stewart was talking about when the picture was shown, though it was nothing to do with Paul or the DVC.
